Hi,
Does anyone know many many volts and amps are supplied from a USB?
The reason I ask is that my external HD power supply has died :-( and I thought I many be able to rig up a power supply from the USB. I'm not sure though if the USB will be able to supply enough power.
I need 12v @ 3amps.
Maybe someone knows a link to a website that describes this?
Thanks

take your harddrives power supply - goto radioshack and you should be able to find a switchable 12V power supply - say the radioshack puts out 6 amps - thats OK cause thats the MAX it "can" put out - if your drive only takes 3 amps then thats all its gonna take - do a little wire splicing - and viola

all fixed
