what is this heatshrink wrap and what is it for?

It's this funky tubing made of some rubbery-like material that literally shrinks (to incredibly small sizes) when subject to heat. It's great for covering a small item or for plain insulation. An example would be using it to cover a PlayStation modchip and its legs after it has been soldered so that you wouldn't need tape or anything else to cover the chip from the PS circuit board.

Obviously, the only way to remove a used heatshrink wrap is to cut it. Once it shrinks that's it.

... And NO, don't put your finger into it and then shrinking the tube. laugh.gif

yeah yeah.. and if u buy big stuff ive seen it used and put around the cables in ur computer to tydie it up a bit.. makes it look spiffy!

yeah that stuff is sweet, when i made cable for a living we put it over the connections we soldered to keep them neat and away from each other, im sorry if you stated what you were going to use it for, but if your tydying up your case i would get wire loom, its much easier to get off if you need to, and it pretty easy to get on too,

i plan to use wirelooms to cover the cables and use heatshrink to just cover up the ends of the wire looms.
