Total sweetness! Last night around 8 I got curious about doing a volt mod on my graphics card and found some info. So I matched up the info. to my specific card and did the mod. Now I can run 660mhz core on my Saphire 9600xt Fireblade 128mb gfx crd from a stock 500. I still have yet to mod the vddq but I haven't quite found any info. that is usefull enough for me. Anyone know where I can find it? The vgpu is 1.3v stock and its running at 1.5v right now. I haven't had time to run any higher speeds on the core with the 1.5v gpu. I'll update with pictures later and see how far we can push this sucker! With a 660mhz core and 700mhz mem. (The memory had to be decreased from 720 because I started seeing artifacts, thus the reason for a vddq mod.) I got 4695 on 3dmark03. w00t!

Sweet OC dude... hope you get the vddq going on and push it futher. Breaking 4600 on a 9600xt is pretty good.

Very nice. What are your temps? That's a pretty hefty increase, and i would bet your temps are pretty high. Have you tried gaming for long periods of time?
Good Luck!

I'm still looking for some more info. on the vddq mod so I don't screw up my board. I can't check my temps right now unless I put in a sensor which is yet to come. I'm working on making a seperate pcb that i'll be able to mount somewhere other than on the gfx card and be able to control the vgpu, vddq, vref, and it'll have my custom temp. guage on it. (It'll be viewable through my case window.) I can't really find info. that is really clear on what to do so I may end up making an educated guess.

Isn't there a temp reading in the ATI control panel under the overdrive tab?
and try here for the memory mod info

yea the 9600xt (what I got) has a temp probe built in.. look in the tabs of Catalyst for Overdrive and you should have a temp there.. and Nuclear. these .13 micron VGAs run ice cold. I've got mine at the clock in my sig and it's 28C in 2D and after gaming for however long I want to.. it's 30C. RAWK

http://www.rojakpot.com/default.aspx?locat...var1=114&var2=0I've already been there. Its not the same card type as mine but I did manage to get enough information off the net to find out which chip controls the mem. vol. Everything was successful although the oc speeds afterwards were a little disapointing. I have the core set at 1.515v (any higher and artifacts start appearing for some reason.) and the mem set at 2.82v but for some reason doesn't help the mem oc very much more. I have the vref set at 1.35 and i'm wandering if that is what is holding me back. I can go upto about 1.4v possibly a little higher but the very max is 1.5v. The highest core oc I can seem to get is 660mhz and for some reason only 700mhz on the mem. Which is really odd because i've gotten my mem. to 720mhz before on stock voltages. From what i've read so far the vref. has some play in the matter but I have to change up my resistors on it. I've got a 10k + 5kpot on it but it will only allow it to go to 1.35v so I need to use a 10kpot or 15k pot instead. If I had a good digital camera I would take pics but maybe i'll use my phone. I still haven't figured out what the vddq is though. Anyone know? By the way, my specific card doesn't have a built in temp. guage.
Ok, here is the crappy pic. from using my phone. Best I could get for now.

But you can see the fan from the massive copper gpu cooler taking up two more pci slots. Also not the cleanest wiring although I did a fairly good job soldering and its easier to adjust the settings that way.

For the system you have and the gpu clock and mem clock you have set on your gfx crd that doesn't sound right. Can you post a screen shot?

CyberPC, when was the last time you defragged and did a reg/shortcut clean? That could be part of it.

Good point. lol. I'll have to do that and then get the vddq mod done and see what kind of scores I get.

lol, im not posting no screen shot, just believe me man, its not oc'ed, and im not lying about the score.

Not willing to post a screenshot? Why not? Do you have a link to your system on 3dmark?

nah, its a waste of time for me now, all i really do is play games after work, im in the midst of saving up for a car, and ive kinda switched forms, im on vwvortex forms alot now.
i only use it for legire time now, my hobby is cars now, so im just gonna keep my computer where its at and not upgrade or overclock anything, my 4,550 in 3dmark 03 is with my his 9600 xt turbo, its called turbo because it has an overdrive function on it, but i didnt use that when benchmarking.
and if it helps to say, i defrag like every 4 days because i get board, i always check for viruses and i always do spyware checks, and registrey cleans, maybe you should do the same to increase your score ?
