Ok, sorry to be spamming the boards right after subscribing, but I have a lot of questions lol.
Anyway. I'm looking for something similar to window sealer to finish off the top blowhole I'll be cutting. I also need something to use as a fan filter. In the past I've used dryer sheets, pieces of screens for windows and other items, but I was wondering what you guys would suggest.
I don't really want to order anything online, and the people at Home depot were no help, lol.

you could go to a local computer store and buy actual fan aluminum mesh filters, they work well. a store here called MicroCenter sells em for 4 bucks for the 120mm kind

steel mesh make a great filter and pure clear silicone adhesive works great for a window sealer

Hmm, mesh, yeah, I don't have a computer store around me though. As far as the window sealer goes. I meant more of a rubber gasket similar to what is used in a window kit. I can't seem to find anything similar around here. The main reason is I don't think I can make the circle PERFECT per-se, as the ones in my last case weren't, but I want a nice finished look.

Someone posted his project pics here a couple of days ago where he put in a top window and used the molding to finish it off. Check the modding section and ask him where he got his (although I think he may have been in the UK)

I said that earlier in another post, sounds a little bizarre but pantyhose makes a great dust filter it's strechable and it fits clean and tight around fans

Hmm, good idea, although they may be a little more restrictive than wire mesh, right?

I suppose they might but they would work alot better I think. What I use is AC filters cut to size. Got them on all my intakes. Haven't seen a spec of dust in my case for months..
They are designed to filter everything you'd ever want out, as well as being designed to be un-restrictive.
As for molding to run along the trim of your fan holes... good question. they sell them online but if you are like me you like to find home-made remedies that work better for a hell of alot cheaper.. thinking... thinking... typing.. thinking... OK! what if you go an auto store and get the stuff that goes on your car windows.. you know the black trim that comes off of doors sometimes or tops of windows... hard to explain. anyway, i don't remember if that stuff has a slit for it so it would stick on to the casing.. but you certainly could just cut one with any knife you had or razor blade. it wouldn't have to be perfect as those things are flexible and twistable. give it a try. i bet they have em at your nearest auto-store : )

Ahh yes, great idea. I do like to mod with whatever I can at home... I wouldn't buy a 120mm hole saw or special fan filters if I could do it myself.
I'd rather save the money for better equipment =).
Thanks for the input.
