im looking at the specs and it doesnt look that impressive. the only thing you really have up on the enermax is the +5v, you have 40A instead of 38. other than that im not really seeing what the extra $100 is getting you.
Just looking at the specs, you may think that. But...
- This PSU produces a peak power of 650W, they only rate them at 510W becuase that's what they deliver 24/7 at 40C case temps. Most other PSU manufacturers list the specs and wattages at 20C.
- The 1% tolerance rating is very important when you are really pushing a high fsb. With this PSU, you will not even notice a difference in voltage drops between idle and load. It handles voltage so well, you cannot hear when the system drops into full load...unlike most PSUs
- You won't have to mod this PSU to run high voltages. All other PSUs require you to mod the 3v line when running over 3.3v, and sometimes over 3.2v.
This PSU is not for everyone, I recommended it to Ayokona simply becuase I knew his future plans...and he is gonna need something big and powerful to fullfill his dreams. I would not have recommended it if he was just gonna OC the system a little and play a few games every now and then.
