I currently have an Antec Super Lanboy but i want to add a duct to the Cpu HS but i am lazy and i wonder if i can buy a window that already has an 80 or 92mm hole on the side. the problem is i don't know where to look to find one and if i can't then i'll just have to do it myself a pic below. cool i just noticed my camera stopped my fan while in motin

matrix camera... nice...

haha stupid boost as well... just like me... i replaced the stupid fan (its not really silent is it) with a smart fan 2, and put a tt ducting mod in between, yeah a side fan helped me... i went the 120mm option myself...

if you have access to some powertools (and know how to use them) then do it yerself... or ask someone who would be able to... like someone at work/school/uni...

just realised how revealing that window is! it should have an x-rated certificate or something! haha laugh.gif

i couldn't recommend the soldering iron technique i used due to the toxic fumes it produces - like, you might die if you did what i did and didn't ventilate the room enough... ph34r.gif

get the 80 or 90mm fan ur gonna use take the pannle off position the fan were u want it trace the screw holes and center (were the fins in the fan are) and cut and drill its not hard if u have the right tools
hardnrg
yeah, to drill into perspex (the window) get an extra HSS (for metal) drill bit and drill into a brick... get it nice and blunt... then it will cut gradually into the plastic... instead of tearing into it like a rabid monkey on crack...

then... ahem... use a jigsaw to cut round from the hole (yeah you'll want a pilot hole then a larger hole etc etc...)

google about cos there'll be load of articles on it... definitely do it yerself cos you won't get a pre-mod window for that case... well, i don't know anywhere that does them anyway...
airman
yeah...just use a holesaw

works for most of the time.

instead of the 'brick' idea...just put the holesaw with the direction in reverse instead of having to completely ruin a $30 holesaw.

yeah well i'd like to see someone breathe in the smoke comin from the melting plexi on my windows... it might not be toxic technically, but the molten plastic particles in the smoke might not be too healthy for your lungs/eyes/throat either...

can those lasers be used to cut through plexi / metal?! biggrin.gif

heh heh iumaestro... ya monkey...

Ahem......jigsaw works fine for me.Tape up the plexi ("perspex" laugh.gif ) on both sides so you don't get any scratches.Take it slow.....

Melchiah - you can also try mounting the dust from a blowhold on top, I've seen good results with that. If you don't want to cut the plexi and risk breaking it.
