believe it or not with everything i have in my comp im using a 180Watt psu..i have a 480watt that i bought..for some reason..but i have my 180 sleeved so never switched..but ok why would i need more watts ever...and does it help anything??

wow, that is a tiny power supply. You need to power all your hardware. CPU takes like 80watts itself, and think of the added other hardware u need to power fully. Man when u put your 400watt in, you'll see the biggest difference in everything

Is this a comp u built urself? What are the specs?

If i were you I would check your voltages they cant be good.

no i didnt build it..well actually i have pretty much re-built it entirely...but ok look in my sig for most of the specs..then i have a 12" uv, 2 80mm case fans, 3.5" fan/temp monitor, an added chipset fan...and thats about it besides whats in my sig..

Heat is the prime factor, if you ask too much of it, more juice flows trough components deteriorates faster etc. You get the pic biggrin.gif
If the heat comming out of the exaust fan is reasonable, and as you can tell everything always went ok.....
I'd go for your other one though (safe side) wink.gif

i switched the psu and now all i have to say is that the only noticable differnce is my uv light is a tad bit brighter but thats the only thing ive noticed but no my 480watt is in and working..so i should be good...
