Has anyone ever tried to re-wire an automotive cathode to work in they're pc box? I'm askin this coz I have like 8 layin around here and was thinking about using them to light my puter up a lil. Lemme know what ya think.

yeah, the only difference between a pc ccfl and a car neon is size and the car neon has the invertor built into the lights housing, therres not much to the wiring, all i did was strip the tips and wire it into a 12v line and it works fine

i'm running an Enermax 465 PS, do you think adding something like that would be too much on it? Do they draw alot of current? Thanks

they will draw just as much as a standard pc ccfl, the output on a car lighter outlet is 12v, so the draw is the same, having one or two will not make a huge impact on your volt rails
