heylooooo was playing on painting my mouse.. its white right now.. i got acces to red black bronze and black .. and white paint.. was wondering what color would go best with a blue led.. planning on chaning the led..

also with painting.. do i really need to sand first? what will hapen if i dont? do i need to use primer on it? and anyother tipes would be good
BeatRyder
Well, sanding it will give you a smother surface and therefore a better paint job,

I suggest you use Krylon Fusion paint, it bonds to the plastic. I used it to paint the front of my case,

as for colors, thats totally up to your tastes.

I would say black would go best with a blue LED. I've never painted a mouse before, and I'm not sure about sanding it, but I would say primer it before you paint the mouse.

do i use the kinda primer you use on a house? or is there special primer. i got some kinda paint called enamell
BeatRyder
I'd check at a local hobby shop, they'd prolly have the stuff you need,
also the people at the hardware would be able to recomend one.

get primer in a spray can like u would for your color.. also buy a clear coat..

use primer.. it will give u a better color..

then do a couple of coats.. then seal it.. with the clear coat..
roadkill
would tutle wax work? the stuff they use on cars? .. its a kinda lclear coat right?

You don't need to use a clear coat. Just put on a few additional layers of paint. a Pure Clear paint on the surface will yellow after a while just like polyurathane. if u really want to. GEt urself a spray gun and liquid auto paint. Spay a full solid color on after u prime it and sand 400 grit between layers. After 3 layers of solid go to a 50/50 mix of solid paint and clear. so little bit of mixing will be required. and do about 3 or 4 coats of that. That will give u a nice shiny and glossy finish. after the last coast is dry go back with some 2000 grit sandpaper and smooth it out. Just like lapping a heatsink how copper almost becomes a mirrior the paint will too. Thus giving u that glossy look. The best was I have found to finish it off is Mothers Brand Cleaner Wax follow by Mothers Pure Carbanua Wax. Thus ur shine is really nice. I know its a lot to do on a mouse but it would come out really nice.

Also on the 50/50 coats if u choose a diff color and spray nice thin coats u can tint the solid color to get a multi tone effect.

hmm but i dont want a shiny coat lol. wouldnt match my comp or desk.. i was looking at a coat that was not very shiny... like ... umm.. not shiny? and if it was shiny.. wont finger prints get on it? like a mirror when you put your finger on it
Will Smith
I would rather have a shiny mouse but thats just me. if u don't want a shiny finish on it just put about 4 layers of paint on it after a primer. sand 400 grit between layers. and sand to about 400 or 600 grit on the last coat. should leave u with a dull enough surface while still being smooth.

ok i tried it on an old mouse. i saned it and sprayed 1 coat of black paint. it looks like crap...
adrenalinepcs
you got to do more than one coat
roadkill

If you do get the sanding and painting down i think it would look sweet if you would have like flat black with red racing stripes or you could pick any color you want for the stripes. just an idea
roadkill
ok sanded it down again. . painted another layer.. i think im gona do a stencil design on the palm surface..
