I have been thinking about buyiong a new case for my rig, but I am not sure if the size really matters.

So does it?

smaller is better for airflow, go mid tower

not exactly. it's all about the air flow. if you bring in 10 cfm of fresh air, you should be removing 10 cfm of warm air. see how it works now? case size has nothing to do with it as long as you balance things right.

but with a smaller case you have less air to move effectively.
and i still reccomend mid tower

big towers like the enermax cs 1018-bs or the antec sx-1035b can bring in enough air while they remove the same amount. but either way as long as you're moving the same amount in and out (to avoid possitive or negative air pressure) you're in good shape reguardless of how big the tower is.

FYI the thermaltake Xaser III cases, SUCK due to poor intakes

this is true, they do suck, go with an alien case or lein li (whatever) enermax chieftec or antec, what is the price range?

as far as size, i guess any size is good but bigger your gonna need more fans
(more = louder) <--- not in all cases, if you 7v mod them then they will be quieter.

it depends on if you case about the noise or not, whatever your preference is

do you have a psu already?
BeatRyder
Well, My budget is about 150Can, I have a 350w PSU with a single fan. I'd like to get at least a 400w, with 2 fans.

I dont know the brand of case I have right now, but I have 2 intake and 2 exaust fans. and a Idle temp of about 41c with my HSF @ 3550RPM

I've gone with a Chieftec Dragon Midi tower...

Enough room for 1 80mm front (intake?) fan, one 80mm on the side of the case over the Gfx card, and 2 80mm fans on the back of the machine, as well as space for a 80mm Hard Drive cooling fan in the front. I also have plans for a 92mm CPU fan...

I am in the process of getting rid of all ribbon cables and clutter, and temps have gone down quite a bit already... Case temp is usually around 19-20c on idle.

Combined with loads of room in there (4 x 3.5 Drives, 4x Optical etc) and the excellent fit and finish, I would recommend the case 100%.

Lian Li PC65 Midtower case

Here is one from a Canadian company. I assume you are from Canada. This does not include a PSU, but does get some nice reviews if you look around on the net.

Case size really depends on your preference, how much stuff are you planning on putting in there?
