what, if any problems should i be aware of when switching power supplies. Mine is currently a measley 350 watts. I have no problems with it, but apparantley its better to have a more powerful supply??? What are the pros and cons of upgrading to a more powerful energy supply.

A better powersupply gives higher stability under heavier loads. Everything the computer does is dependant on the psu...running a high-performance computer on a cheap psu is like running a ferrari on a honda civic's fuel pump...see the comparison? Also, better psu's allow for higher overclocks. There aren't any cons to getting a better psu. You may not need one, though. Under full load, check the voltages on your rails. As long as they aren't high or low by too much (stay within .5V or so) then you're okay. Also, with psu's QUALITY beats QUANTITY. I would much rather have my antec truepower 430W than a generic 550W.

the wattage of an actual PSU can be misleading, what u really want to be looking at is the rails, Enermax, globalwin, Aantec and a few others make really good ones, mines is for looks mainly, but still performs fairly good
