i know you said sucksess.. but that.. i would not think it would work.!! correct me if im wrong.. but that is one of the plates your seeing,, right.. i though one microscopic scratch in one of thoes destroys taht section?

Yes it does.

If HE DID IT in open air, his hdd is toast. But if he did it correctly, it's still good.

the scratches you see are on the plastic cover. i put it in tupperware container while cut the window. it was only a 200mb hd so i had nothing to lose. it formated fine on xp.

i doubt that thing works, not bad though id sand the edges more. i can tell that hdd is old! what is it? 7 years old? 400mb? jw... good idea though, doin it on an old hd

just saw it was a 200mb in the post above me that you did while i was doin this lol, good idea though biggrin.gif
