just tried out the sequel and it's even sicker than #1.... so therefore i had a blast...!!
bilcliff
i've been playing it for the last 4 or so hours. unfortunately the classification board in my country is a huge stinking pile of boomer $#!%. so i have no clue when i get a headshot because the body just disappears into thin air. And there's other annoying censor issues.

when i first saw a smoker i was like "nawww they changed it", then i thought about it and figured if they didn't people would just cry about it being a copy-paste and them being ripped off.

cant wait till more people get this game so there is more vs servers up

edit: i also like the addition of the new grenade. when i first got it i was like wth do i want with this?
disappointed that you cant carry a pistol(s) and melee weapon
Krazyxazn
The melee weapons is what makes this game biggrin.gif. The other additions are also nice. Nothing like hack n slashing through a flood of zombies and your screen filling with their blood.

IS there a Katana? or maybe a MOD which can add one? (prays to god!) laugh.gif i love melee weapons
Krazyxazn
There is a Katana, but it seems the melee spawns are random. They spawn in the same places, but which melee weapon is random. I got the Katana in the first room and I used it for at least half of the level lol.

It does a lot of damage to the Charger and Tank. I think it takes two melee hits to kill a Charger (much weaker than Tank). Can't remember how many hits to kill a Tank, had to be more than 2 hits but then again I don't even want to try an melee a tank. He's just turn around and smack you lol.

I love the melee weapons, but one thing I have sort of a love/hate feeling on is the chainsaw. One hand, I think its awesome, but it makes it too easy to take out the witch. biggrin.gif
Crazy_Nate
I've only played the demo, but, I sure do love the magnum smile.gif

If only they put some variety in the first... laugh.gif

There's also something satisfying about whacking a zombie with a large object.
Puck
Combat shotty + Magnum. GG.
Krazyxazn
Hopefully they will patch it so you can dual wield magnums lol. Right now you can only use one.

I doubt it...It's already overkill laugh.gif

Only played like 30 mins of this game so far (played like 4 hrs of the demo too) and I love it!!

Really built on the first one, and added lots of nice touches. I love the dynamic "panic" events, melee weapons, and new guns! So far, gota love the Magnum & the new Sniper!! The weapon upgrades are cool too!

So far, this game has impressed me much more than CoD: MW2. Although MW2 is a very fun game to play, it just dosent live up to its hype. But then thats off topic.

To put a number to it, Id probably give L4D2 a 9.5/10! (nothings perfect tongue.gif) Also love the fact that if you pre-ordered the game, you get it early!! IT unlocked yesterday for me, but still says get it on the 20th on Steam, and its not in-store yet! EPIC! Again, unlike the MW2 release.... not only is it no cheaper to pre-order (L4D2 was, £26, instead of £35) but you get it 2 days LATER than the people who buy it in store!! (They then get to put it on steam anyways!! what the heck??)
slick2500
You can do a lot of damage to the tank with the chainsaw biggrin.gif I love the AK it is deadly accurate at long rang in short bursts.

L4D2 is alot of fun except i have bugs like alot of other people sad.gif
xPETEZx
? what kinda bugs? Not seen anything wrong yet. As always, a very very polished game from Valve!

no bugs here, steam version...
nVidia_Freak
Just going through the demo on expert, this is disappointingly easier than L4D.
FUZi0N
I just played the first 2 campaigns.. nice and polished so far. Melee is awesome! The demo was a lot easier than the full game.

i dont know what ur on about it being easier. in the full version the AI is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay stupider than the first one. don't expect to survive campains on anything harder than normal unless ur playing with friends.
xPETEZx
I dont understnad what ppl are saying about it being easier?? wacko.gif

I have found it much more difficult on the same settings playing it! Even with some randoms online, it was no walk in the park, which the first 1 often was with a group of half decent players.
bilcliff
i did find a bug last nite. was playing vs on the dead center campain. both teams had just finished the 3rd level and then the next level it loaded was the first one again on the rooftop of the hotel. it was like the server reset but both teams still had all their accumulated points huh.gif

i think also what makes it harder is there is more "special infected" in a map, and they dont always spawn 1 at a time, you now get em in 2 or 3s (i.e. get rushed by a charger and spitter at the same time). in single player my team got all incapacitated on one level cos we got rushed by a tank, charger and a hunter all within seconds of each other.

another thing is the maps feel larger and more open making it eaiser to get hit from all directions
Bizzlenitch
Personally I have had no problems and I think it's a fantastic game! However, my brother DLed it on Steam and he can't make it through a whole campaign without the game kicking him and him having to restart. He's running Vista x64 and I Win7 x64. It's pretty frustrating for him, even after a reinstall. If anyone's heard anything about that pass along some word.

got my lass kicked in the amusement park (single player version) and so far the only part that has been easier was the part that started the demo....every section i've been in has been pretty difficult and yess including multiple bad guys spitters, chargers and jockeys....but i still love it...!!
KK_
theres quiet a few bugs , charger can push you through walls/attack though walls.
with high gore on your system can just randomly exit without any crash report (i get this one)

etc etc , Valve is working very hard to fix these errors

yeah the infinite spawning hoard at the end of that level is difficult. especially when you run out of primary ammo and forgot to grab a melee weapon.

@ Bizzlenitch i've never anything like that and i have the steam version too.

one thing i do like about the campaigns is that they all follow on from each other. there is a story that flows unlike the first game. and also sometimes you hear the characters talk in game about what they'd done in the past campaign. i think i heard one say once "at least we're out of the swamp. there's no more mudmen here" not sure all of that is spoiler but just incase

damn it took like 12 tries to get thru the bridge to the chopper but i finally git it done...whew...! laugh.gif
bilcliff
i've stopped playing it until they fix the achievements. every time i log into steam my total time has reset and some achievements disappeared. and i'm not doing that bloody gnome one again!

i had to take a screen of this amongst all the stats resetting and what not
