Hey guys this is my first post on this forum, I have windows xp media center and an HD3850 agp I hooked my comp up to my tv with a dvi to hdmi cable i selected ATI hd audio as the playback device but i have no sound still any ideas thanks

I believe you need to connect the digital audio (SPDIF) on the card to the same connector on your sound card/mobo

Yeah you need to pass the audio from your soundcard to you video card via a S/PDIF cable.

Yeah the only way it wil send audio to your tv is thorugh a strict HDMI cable using the adapter provided with the ATI card. Your going to have to use S/PDIF otherwise.
