I've been tinkering a little bit and found a free web hosting service plus got myself hooked up with google adsense. Now I've only had this site for less than 24hrs, anyone have any ideas on what to put on it/get people to it

I think you should get a new layout first. That one looks "stock"

It looks very template-ish. How to get people on it? Breaking news, latest hardware reviews, active forums...

Would anyone care to teach me how to make a layout for my site, [i'm a complete n00b a this]
And also how do you guys, the reviewers and news editors get the news so fast and where from?

On a similar note im in the same bucket however my website is not being hosted through a service but being ran on an older system which I OCed and put debian on . I know its 2 lines but someone attempt to figure out what the number means at the bottom.

lol its been 6 months and you haven't added a single piece of content. Let this be a lesson to anyone starting a website; the process should go thus:

1) Have an idea for a great web site
2) Come up with content
3) Make web site

The way it SHOULDN'T go was nicely illustrated by this thread:

1) Make web site
2) Struggle to think of an idea for a web site
3) Come up with content

You need to actually have content for a site before you can make one, people just seem to make sites for the sake of it, which is why blogs are so popular I guess.
