i got my new motherboard installed and working along with a new case, but i have no sound. is there any wires you have to plug in on your motherboard for your internal sound card to work?

list your computer specs when asking hardware questions

some motherboards have an entire audio module that needs to plug into the motherboard (e.g. DFI NF4 Lanparty series)

some motherboard have a separate PCIe soundcard (e.g. Asus ROG)

some motherboards you need to install the audio drivers separately from the chipset drivers

onboard audio is normally defaulted On (or Auto On) in BIOS

What he said ^^^^

Or could it be you didn't plug the wires correctly?

Mobo > 939 > A8N32-SLI Deluxe > OS > Audio

i got the realtek audio driver and it acts like its all working but i still have no sound.. i think it may be my speakers even though they were fine before i replaced my motherboard.

Try some headphones? Or try reconnecting the jack. Some Realtek chips have auto jack detection.
