I recently build a rig for a friend with these specs:

MOBO:Gigabyte GA-MA770-DS3P
GPU:Gigabyte 1GB 9800GTX+
CPU:AMD Phenom x4 9950 B-E
PSU:Topower 750W
RAM:4GB Kingston DDR 2 1066Mhz
HDD:500GB Seagate SATA
DVD:Samsung DVDRW SATA
Case:Thermaltake M9

I installed the drivers for the onboard sound, plugged in his speakers, but they wont work? I reinstalled drivers again, but still nothing, the internet is not yet up and running on the comp, so I can't download the latest drivers (if this is the problem) but it should work shouldn't it? His speakers are Creative 2.1 setup. I talked to a friend and he said it could be the SSID?(I think?) I don't know what this is... (Sorry I'm a noob) So yeah appreciate all help guys smile.gif

Thanks alot.

go in to the sound control panel and switch the output to the correct audio out...by default if you install the HDMI audio it runs that by default...

you can also disable the HDMI audio in the bios and remove the driver if it isnt needed...

the HDMI audio puts all sounds to the HDMI port...

Make sure the fire time you plug them in the PC is on and you plug them in and then confirm its stupid jack detection software garbage. I loathe the Realtek HD audio Drivers. I've been struggling for months to get their stupid input controls to work again, I fianally just gave up and switched to a USB headset.
