I'm trying to update my avatar image as I've been using good ol' Bruce Lee for a while now and have decided on something new...

Now, everytime I attempt to update the avatar it shows the new image as being uploaded but it continues to show Bruce as the current avatar as if I hadn't done anything that remotely made any difference whatsoever.

As per the title, What gives?

I don't see Bruce. Try Shift + F5 refreshing the page. Or go in and delete your cookies and temp files and come back to the site.

I see some purple thing that says GCX. It's not a knock on your avatar, it's just me using a 15" laptop @ 1680x1050 with no glasses on laugh.gif

That's funny. That worked, but when I changed the avatar with one of the few pictures IPB offers it showed up without a problem.

Cookies and all. bah.gif

Had the same problem before...

I may have even made a thread about it back in the day too...

What dimensions are you using for Fry?
Queenz
This is normal. I've had the same problem myself. Sometimes it takes a couple of minutes for the Avatar to actually change to the image you uploaded.

Nice Gundam Avatar....Gundam FTW!!!

I liked your old avatar though *cries*

Surprised my name didn't tip you off sooner. tongue.gif

@ Dark, of course...what's not to like, it's Bruce Lee. wink.gif

EDIT: I can't seem to lengthen the image by no more than 68 pixels without going over 50kb.

You're doing it wrong!

My 500x100 sig pic is only 35kb...

Post up the original pic and I'll see if I can get it to work.

What software are you using? It should be well easy to get it under the limit...

My sig is a PNG and it's 24.36 kB... my avatar is a PNG and it's 1.32 kB laugh.gif
Andrewr05
uh oh...

Recheck that, filesize r3d c0m3t...

I think thar be a bit of misquackulation going on dere...'

You're at 3.2KB right now, it actually goes beyond 50 by adding 22 pixels?

Here's the original image.....

I would have used Imageshack, but this supposed "High Speed Internet" POS I'm using is slower than dial-up right now. dry.gif

EDIT: Nevermind...it still came out the way I wanted.

Your sig looks kind of frisky
