I bought a red window kit from CompuSmart tonight (best Canadian computer company I've found). I am going to install it with my Dremel tomorrow. Should I just use cut off wheels and grinders, or should I sand it by hand also? I am going to paint the case black (as shiny as I can get it), so scratching it isn't a problem. I am going to put a red cold cathode inside to add to the effect of the red tinted window.

I think cutoff wheels/grinding stones will do a satisfactory job.
As an aside, I didn't know CompuSmart had modding supplies -- shows how long it's been since I was in there.

The one in Scarborough does, I'm not sure about the rest though. They have windows, LED fans, wire covers, heatsinks, high end video cards, cases, sound cards, DVD-RWs, Athlon XP's Pentium 4's, Albatron and MSI mobos and the list goes on. Do most of my shopping there, unless Future Shop has amazing deals(Radeon 9600Pro - $250 Canadian @ Future Shop).

Get lots of cutting wheels, I've found the the re-inforced ones hold up a little longer and seem to cut plastics better. Remember to cut slow, going to fast will cause the plastic to melt and warp around the edges.
BTW: For best results, I would use a jig-saw if you have access to one. They will make cleaner cuts and take no time. I used to be a dremel man, but now the jigsaw has become my new window making friend

The absolute best thing to cut plastics is this, if you mod and have a dremel get this, it goes full speed like a router and the cuts are pro.

Put the window in tonight, how does it look?
Pain in the @$$ to put in, but it's worth it.
Still need to paint it black, and install Windows, but other than that it's finished.
