Is it possible to use the standard 4 pin molex to run muliple fans off one connection. If so can I also run multiple fans and a dvdrom with a single molex. My old psu went boom and my new cheap one (college expenses keep it tight) only has 2 4 pin molexes and 3 sata cables. All sata cables are occupied with my 3 hard drives. I have, lol, 5 fans needing a molex connections and 2 PATA dvd drives requiring molex connections.
500W stealthxstream psu.
Thx in advance.

if the fans have the other end of the molex open (two pins at the other side for extensions) you should be able to no problem.
but anything really requiring power (the pata drives) will require 4pins and most likely wont have and other open end.

i normally don't mess to much with adding dongles onto lines with drives.. but..

get 3. split the first one off to a drive then the other to the other dongle - > do the same again and the once more, use last one for the fans and you should still have a 4pin molex hanging

i don't know personally the safeness of using that on an item that needs constant exact power..
i don't have a multimeter for some reason at the apt. or i'd do that real quick.
but once you do that, its like pluggin an extension cord into another one into another one. (like my apt. 5 surgers off 2 plugs)lol
