I bought a new Antec 900 case from Newegg and they shorted me one brass standoff. Can I proceed with building this minus the one standoff or do I have to wait for replacement standoff? Please help!

Thanks

Well, here's what I'd do. Purchase a replacement standoff. Build and test it outside the case - on top of the motherboard box (takes about 2 days to do properly).

When the standoff gets to you, you can put everything in the case smile.gif.

Thank you Nate. I did just that and it worked. But then I got impatient and went out and got replacement standoffs.

Sounds good. Don't forget to stress test. ;)

If I get a little impatient with a build, I'd run the tests while sleeping. Test the first DIMM by running memtest for 10 passes on tests #5 and #8, then let all tests run overnight. The following night, switch DIMMs and repeat. The night after that, do a 8 hour Prime95 blend test (I prefer longer, but, ultimately, it's up to you).

Usually, it works out that it's less of a headache to just postpone playing with it...and make sure everything works first. ;)
