Full Version: Looking For Really Big Case

Mad Cow
Ok I have been searching all around the internet for a suitable case for my computer setup, the problem is that I need an unreasonable LARGE case for my water cooling setup. Here's a pic of what I am currently using:

Not only that, but add a large inline pump sitting in the middle of things with cables running all over the place. I was possibly looking at one of those two partion server cases or a full tower. I want to be able to mount the heatercore and fans internally as well as the pump. I really liked the cases (I think for server RAID setups) that were almost two midsized cases hooked up, so I could have the cooling components and other accessories in the other half. I need room for four 5 1/4 inch bays and preferrably two externally accessable floopy bays. I only have one hard drive, but look forward to adding at least two more. I need to also fit that second PSU inside for powering the TEC and cooling components. Would like recomendations ASAP please. *I preferr them not to have window kits because I want to make my own customized shapes.
Thanks,
Mike

This big enough for you: http://www.rackmountpro.com/productpage.cfm?prodid=470

But for real, how about these: http://www.aaronix.com/catalog/product_inf...products_id/849]http://www.aaronix.com/catalog/product_inf...products_id/849

the first would work but the second is just a lil bigger than what he already has
Mad Cow
wow thanks for the fast replies. The first case that InvaderTrax links to is the design I was going for. Before I go out and buy one of these I would like better pics because I want to know exactly where I would put things. The problem I run into with that case was a space to mount the heater core. The dual PSU mounts are nice but the space offered is really insufficient. That's the design I was looking for, also maybe a little more attractive (black, blue or green paint preferred).
Thanks guys

buy a beige case and mod and paint it lol

how bout this one
Mad Cow
THAT LOOKED AWESOME! until I reached the bottom price tag -$319.99. blink.gif Not to be picky or anything, but I am trying to stay as close to $100-$130 as possible. Maybe I should custom fabricate my own case to almost match the specs of that 18x18x18 cube. That might be the thing for me. Keep up the ideas, I'll talk to my dad about fabricating one on my own.
Thanks

its cheaper than the server case InvaderTrax posted lol by about $30

need I say more?

I FINALLY FOUND THE CASE THAT I WAS ORIGIONALLY LOOKING AT! biggrin.gif Here's the review of it. Compaired to the other cases at $300+ this one is at least half as much at $150. I can run all my standard components in one half and the cooling components in the other. Tell me what you guys think.

You probibly thought of this, but why not just get 2 cases that will look good together.. then bolt them together. Or put one on the floor and another on your desk. It could fit into tighter spaces.
Mad Cow
Yes, but briefly. Both would need to be aluminum and fairly sturdy with a full side pannel missing. They MUST look good side by side. If you guys find some cases that go well together I would be interested. I would have them bolted or welded together, not separated. If you guys think its a worthwhile idea, maybe.
stocknotclocked
nice cube case where did you buy it
InvaderTrax
How about this? I have a friend who fit all his water cooling stuff into it: http://www.thermaltake.com/xaserCase/lanfire/vm2000a.htm

the TT case definetly isnt big enough from what i saw. I like the cube case but it is a lil procy, i think your best bet would be to go with the one you were lookin at like, 3/4 posts ago. good luck!

you guys are whining about $300? jeez those supermicro boxes go for for ~$700
Mad Cow
yea and i definetly dont want to spend that much money on a case. BTW the TT will definitely not have enough room. You guys have definitely given me enough ideas, I will see what I can do.

i'm new to the overclocking world and i've been doing extensive research on cooling the cpu. the cash you've spent or about to spend could be quite a lot.in my opinion you might be better off to look into the cpu refridgerated cooling system by nventia it's called the prometia. you can purchase the cooling system seperately or with a case, the cooling system is attached to the bottom of the case so no ugly hardware.if you want to check this out www.crazypc.com sells the system at the best price. P.S. this is the way i'm going to go, water cooling may be the cheapest way but to me it's the unsafest way(if you spring a leak and catch it to late it'll cost you more than the prometia to replace all your components)
Mad Cow
LOL no way that's happening. I already have bought all the components and everything's working fine. Right now all im trying to do is find a more appealing case for everything. Plus the Mach I is $549 ohmy.gif and the Mach II is $1000+ blink.gif blink.gif blink.gif . And added to the case mods I also am going to buy an NF7-S mobo, Barton 2500+, new PSU, LED fans, SATA HDs, and a GPU waterblock. NO WAY i would have enough money to go with that. Hey I'm just 16 (without financial contributions from parents sad.gif ).
