The following 'Case Mods' were actually done on a Antec Nine-Hundred, but could be done on most pc cases.
I wanted to mount the additional USB ports, (supplied with my m/b), but without using up an expansion slot, at the rear of the case.
I've seen it done before, but with the 'mounting plate' still attached.
I didn't want to have to bend, or hacksaw the plate, so decided to remove it.

(The (grey/gray) USB housing had to be sanded thin, on one side to prevent the ports I'm making, 'merging' into the PSU aperture)
I then used the old mounting plate as a 'template', to drill the mounting screw holes, and the USB apertures.

A little (careful), drilling and filing, gave me the finished result.

and

The USB apertures were made using a 2mm drill bit to make a series of holes, before joining them, using a rat-tail 'needle' file, and smoothing with a (slightly larger) flat 'modellers' file.
(Note to 900 owners: With the benefit of hindsight, I should have done this mod for the 'Firewire' port instead. The 'front-panel' Firewire cable will not reach my m/b !) Doh !

Heatsink Support Bracket :

I was a bit worried that the weight of the Thermalright Ultra would tear a 'CPU-sized' hole in my m/b one day, especially during transportation, and could use a little support.
(Hopefully this could be adapted to other large H/Sinks e.g. Tuniq and Scythe).

Luckily I had a piece of 3mm Copper 'knocking about' (easy to bend).
Two 5mm holes were drilled to fit over the end of the cooling tubes.
A bend or two for alignment, and to fit the 'rolled-edge' of the 900 top 'rail' :

The two small mounting holes are drilled : 2.7mm and tapped : 6/32 UNC to accept two (coarse thread) pc Case screws.

Cheers for now
