Hi, my 580w Hiper psu has died I think, and I need some advice on which new on to get. I'd like a quiet one like the Hiper was, and something that would have plenty of juice for my next build down the line (probably quad core).
Many thanks.

Corsair HX-620 = nice and powerful (rated @ 55C!), dead silent as far as I can tell (been using one over a year in an overclocked E6600 + 8800GTS + watercooling + everything else I can throw at it)
The Antec Trio 650w is dead silent as far as I can tell as well, and it has nice long cables, but isn't modular like the Corsair is.
Stay away from the PCP&C psu's if you want quiet. Some of the OCZ's are nice and quiet too, but my Corsair is still the best (I've got a Hiper 580w myself and I love how quiet it is)

Thanks I've gone for the Corsair 520w, I couldn't stretch the budget to the 620w.

don't sweat it...these Corsairs are excellent and very very powerful!

I agree. The Antec Trio 650 W PSU is a solid performer as well as a quiet one. I have this PSU in my "Portable BatComputer". You couldn't pay me to sell this bad boy!
