Well I am a newbie here so I apologize for ummmm i guess newbiness would be the only compatible word...but i recently purchased an Ahanix Platinum XP case. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Pics are here
http://www.ahanix.com/platinumxp.html The only thing I have so far is that there is kind of a silver theme going on...I bought silver round IDE cables and floppy cable, soyo kt-600 platinum edition, silver case, black Thermaltake 480W Silent Purepower /w a greyish white badge facing the window, chrome cpu cooler, arctic silver 5 thermal paste (i know you can't see this but i thought it should be recognized for its silver name) and i think thats about it...so any ideas that would go great for a virually silver system feel free to post em here...Im looking for like an animal theme or something like that maybe a superhero...but i dont know of anything that is silver

Nice. Where'd you get the silver cables? I too have a silver theme going, but I haven't seen silver cables anywhere. Anyway, tigerdirect.com has silver CD/DVD drives and floppy drives. You could also get some silver cathodes if you're feeling adventurous. Blue lights also go really good with silver

This would look good but better be handled by someone with experience in painting

are you gonna use white cold cathodeS? oh, and the case is nice but what are you gonna do with that floppy space if you dont have a floppy? oh blue and silver do go very good together but your right, it is overdone. red and silver would look pretty bomb, plus you'd be able to use copper components like the CPU cooler (which is a better conductor) so i say that sounds like a plan, good luck!

Yup, go red instead of blue(say he who couldn't decide and did both blue and red, and blacklight).
A top-window might be good too.
Post pics when you can.

Well alright guys thx for the help. Ill be sure to post pics as soon as im done. Im probably going to be adding fan holes as well so it may take awhile or then again hardly any time at all. It all depends on how busy i will be in the next couple weeks...but you guys will be the first to know.
..Actually I just found some fans i could get with a blue, green, yellow, and a red led in it...the pictures of what it looks like are
here ...what do you guys think? right now its between this and the red. Its no namebrand...but its cheap and it comes with a free grill so im game.

Ya those fans look purple in real life, one of my friends has a couple of them and we make fun of him for having purple led fans... but thats my opinion.

my dad has that same case.....except he bought it for $130 when it was first released....u can get it for 30 now lol, should be fairly easy to paint......be carful when removing the front panel (stupid screws are hard to remove) because its easy to strip out the screws and the tabs can break easy. thats the only prblem with that case exept for it not having the quik release bays. (im always changing hardware.)its a nice case though....surprisingly quiet for its thinness.
and one more thing....that compunurse thing is accurate but is very fragile...got broke once and had to break the other one out and glue the new one in place so be careful lol.
goodluck!

If you haven't bought fans yet you may want to go with these there chromed and i think would look bomb with your case you should also get chrome wire sleeving for your psu and maybe a psu cover mod.
chrome fan:

Ive Already bought the fans...thx though those fans are really sweet looking... and I was actually going to do some chrome looming. Sleeving seems like to much effort for me. Because you have to remove all of the molexes and what not. So Im just going to take the easy way out and loom em...everything else is silver anyways so I thought I would keep the tradition. Yeah I got my case for pretty cheap I like the look of it and i really like the thermometer feature...Ill probalby get around to painting it...right now im pretty focused on the interior of the case. Does anyone by chance know if it comes stock with glass or plexiglass? I want to mod a blowhole in the window but i dont want to do it if it is glass.

I have an Ahanix Platinum XP with the pre-installed Window, and I've done/am doing several things to spruce it up. I will post pics one day. The first order of business was to replace the front 80mm fan with a 120mm. The Platinum has the cool turbo fan button on the front case that runs all connected fans at 6 volts, but when you press the button, it bumps the voltage to the full 12 volts. Great for running your rig quielty when you don't need the vacuum cleaner sound. But enough about cooling (wrong forum), as far as modding goes, my first priority there was to Paint the inside of the case flat black. You can use spray paint, but I used an airbrush kit from a hobby store, cathode lighting looks cool when reflected off the surface. Paint EVERYTHING inside the case! Just make sure you take out the Mobo, fans, etc... This was done the day I received the case. Oh yea I painted the PSU as well. I bought some LED's from Superbrightleds.com and some resistors from Futurlec.com, and put Blue LED's on the front of my CD Burner and DVD Drive. The reason for this is because the case comes with CDROM covers, which have a clear thin window running length of the cover, I guess to let you see the drive LED in a dark room. Well, I put a pair of bright blue LED's behind that window, so you see blue now. I used a 3" hole saw and made exhaust holes for two 80mm fans on top of the case, and if you can get it right, you can actually get a 120mm fan in the exhaust fan position in the case (the front fan has holes there for a 120mm, but only comes with a 80mm, the back did not, so it takes some extra modding. I also got rid of the front and back metal fan grills and replaced them with chrome wire grills. I went with a green lighting theme inside the case with two green cathode tubes, and a Bio Hazard etched applique for the window. Also, my theme for the interior of the case is black, I wrapped all the wiring in black to match the painted case inside, and I have black round drive cables. I wrapped EVERYTHING, included all of the HD activity LED wires, and power and reset wires. I wanted to keep everything black because of the green lighting. Looks pretty slick. The Platinum XP case is open to some really awesme mods.
Anyways, If you can't make any sense out of all that, maybe one day I'll post pictures.
I forgot to put this in the first time I posted, I took apart the front Temperature LCD, and put a bright green LED behind it so the temp LCD screen glows green when the lights are off.
