good start. Nice to see you got the tools too.
I slowly build up my tools for every bit I do. Last purchase was a mouse sander. Well worth the investment.

Nice work!
I wish I could have top mounted my rad...then I would be making new case feet later.
Oh well. the T01 is serving me well. Always nice to see another REAL Stacker getting the mod love. (those silly little 830 and 832's should be called something else

Pics are looking just fine, I even cleared my cache on my other computer and checked the thread again.
Anyway, if you need somethign to straighten out those bent pieces, you might get your hands on a hand seamer. If you have pounded them back into submission, that works too.

My web host was down shortly but they came back online. Anyway, I think I'll put a block of wood under the bent pieces and flatten them. I'll hopefully have some more time soon to get some more work done

Looking good! jig saws beat dremmels like red headed stepchildrens on big projects like that. T'was what I used to cut out spaces in my steel case. I forgot to get a laundry basket though...never knew they were such handy tools
momoceio
Dec 10 2007, 09:12 PM
yeah, most of it was jigsaw'd besides those spots that I had to trim out

Dec 10 2007, 09:16 PM
Jig-saws, circ-saws, and routers are definitely da shiznit for large jobs; I reserve the dremel for detail work.
I guess It's obvious that I like power tools; I still have a fair list of things I could use in a shop, maybe even have a modding studio on the side at some point.

Ha-ha, I must be crazy then, 'cause I dremeled the entire top for my 360 rad! :eek2:
Are those medium speed blue-LED Yate Loons I see? I have three of those on mine, and I love them. I put them on my Zalman ZM-MFC1 and run them at 5v most of the time, and they are very quiet that way. When I bench or game I can crank them up some more and the cooling is more effective.
BTW, you said you noticed the holes were off a little on your RadGrillz. Make sure you drill them where the radiato needs them. I had to open all the holes up on my RadGrillz because they wouldn't line up with the radiator holes, so I used a pointed grinding bit to open the RadGrillz holes up.
momoceio
Dec 11 2007, 06:07 AM
Yes, I noticed that the holes didn't quite line up with my rad also but they line up with the fans perfectly. I might mount it grill -> fans -> rad but if I do it grill -> rad -> fans then I'll have to wide the holes up some. Yes, those are Yate Loon Med LED fans

I had ordered the High spd but they were out so I just picked up the medium. They'll be on a sunbeam rheobus controller. I couldn't imagine dremeling the whole top...lol. How long did that take?
t_ski
Dec 11 2007, 06:41 AM
Maybe an hour of so. Not nearly as long as I took to measure the rad and draw out the cuts on the masking tape.

Well, I'm still waiting to paint but it's too cold out. Supposed to warm up above 50 this week so I'll shut the garage and get the space heater going...should get it to 60 or so at least

I should be finishing most of this project between now and New Years..I work at a school have 2 weeks off :tooth:

I'm gettign excited.
Are you going to put the retention brackets back in? I am wondering because when mine come out, they are staying out as I don't use them for anything more than wire control on the backside of the case. I have already covered them in the "front". And by front I mean the side visible through the window.

I'm not sure if I'll put those back in or not...sure had a lot of screws holding those f**kers in though.

No kidding, I have looked at them in the past to make sure they are removable.
Talk about completely useless though. I have had ONE device this whole time that actually made use of them. And even though they "lock down" the 4 in 3 bay, that thing is secure enough without them.
Of course, that is gone from my system now too. That one device was the Plextor DVD-RW that finally gave up the ghost a couple of months ago. The Pioneer drive in there can't even fit the black plates to work with them.
So yeah, they are gonna go.

Well, I did find a few spots where I didn't get full coverage so I'll have to pick up another can of paint tomorrow. I'm reallllly liking how this flat black turned out though...very nice. I used the Pro line of Rustoleum's paint and it goes on pretty well.

you bet...the tap is 8/32 though because I bought the wrong size socket head cap screws so I just tapped my rad to 8/32

hehe; I probably would have gone and bought 6-32 screws, but I'm kinda anal about those things; 8-32 is cool too.

Man this is a pretty mod! I got the stacker as well and never did anything to it besides drill a hole for my fill port! Every time I see somebody doing a mod I'm thinking about doing something to my case!

Edit: All that modding got me going and I found this
Stacker mod! Look through all the pictures or just check out the finish product! 2 Stacker made into one! Love it!

Ok, I got some more work done over the weekend and I have some pics but it's late so I'll just upload some teasers. I've still got a lot of wires to clean up...what a bitch.
My Enzotech sink was a little too wide so I used my dremel to widen the mounting holes to get them closer together so it would mount to my SB.
Nicely lapped from the factory...
My Enzo NB sink...
D-Tek backplate mounting kit...
Before mounting the sinks on the MOSFETs, NB and SB...
After...
Sex...
More to come...probably tomorrow. Now I sleep.

Yep, that is one hot case, I linked to his worklog on the Coolermaster forums a while back in the big stacker thread. Lots of good ones getting shown off over at XS as well.
Mine will get there one of these days. Not as far out as the i-Spider, but it should be purty when i am done. I am liking momo's so far too

Well...f**k. One of my Yates is dead so I had to order another fan...while I was at it I ordered some of the PrimoChill anti-kink coils (only 3/4" ones I could find in UV Blue). I also noticed I had some flux/solder floating in my loop so I need to flush my rad again. So, back to the beginning...more to come once my stuff gets here.
