well with the arrival of my Intel core duo setup I decided to tear down the Lian- Li and get it ready for the new system.
Before

:eek2:

The case used to house 2 water cooling loops. I removed the loop with 3x120 mm rad. I will keep the loop with the 2x120mm rad for cooling the 8800Ultra.
I will be using a modded coolit freezone to cool the core duo E6750.
The case had blue led fans they will be swapped out with AC-Ryan Blackfire4 UV LED Green to match the DFI LP UT P35T2R motherboard.
I will also be using Ac-ryan modders mesh for a new floor to cover the fan holes.

I will post some more pics as I get started.

Nice! Keep the pics coming! I just got a 6750 as well and will play with it this week!

with the intel matrix raid setup I can have 2 raid arrays across the 4 HD's Going to be fun stuff.
t_ski
Hey, that's the same setup I have and everything biggrin.gif

I have the first 50GB off each drive partitioned into the Raid 0 array, and the rest in raid 5. With HDTach, I get ~430 MB/s reads on the raid 0 set. I forget what on the Raid 5...

There are no words in existence that would adequately portray my rage right now.

Instead, I shall just state the obvious:

Lian-Li Roxzors!!!!11!1!!1!

OK, so you've got the E6750, the DFI P35 UT, the four 250 GB Seagates, and what else going in this upgrade? Can't tell which G.Skill......

Well going from a 165 opteron and a 7900GTX. the intel setup with the 8800Ultra is a pretty nice upgrade by itself

Some more work. intalled 8800Ultra, PC Power & Cooling PSU.
Started working WC'ing loop for the video card. Dam PC Power & Cooling psu has only one floppy plug and it's plugged into the board so i need to track down a molex to floppy thingy so I can hook up the floppy drive.
phoenixdancer_merged
why do you need a floppy drive?

I have never Ever used a floppy drive in my life. i only use USB sticks tongue.gif
mknwatt
A floppy is good way to flash a bios, or install raid drivers.

I bet the extra connector will be used for the mb, it has two 4-pin 5v/12v power connections. smile.gif

Dag nab whipper-snappers! Back in my day, computer WERE only floppies. Didn't have no dag gum hard drives!

Yeah, XP only allows F6 installation of raid, etc drivers from a floppy (AFAIK).

mknwatt do you have both of the board 4-pin 5v/12v power connected?

Yes, I have both connected. I've ran with only the upper one plugged in, without any issues. Both power connections might help when running in CF. I just feel better with both pluuged in.
catkicker
Thats how I feel about it. Ordered a 4 pin molex Dual Floppy Drive Cable/Y Splitter I can connect both of them off one molex and use the the other floppy connector for the floppy drive.

As usual, I found out I do not have some of the fittings I need for the water cooling and I'm a bit short on tubing. So I did a few things on the case today. Some more cable sleeving and i have the meanwell psu setup. really can't do much more till I get a few parts and the hard drives. It looks like I have long enough sata cables for the hard drives to mount them in the bays with the plugs facing the front of case so it should look very clean cable wise.

Nice set up!

Looking good so far, quite sexy even. :tooth:

I kept thinking you had a phase-change cooler hooked up, but I didn't see the condenser anywhere, quite a unique way to shield a radiator and block.

That is a Coolit Freezone.
http://www.coolitsystems.com/index.php?opt...id=12&Itemid=26

The stock 92mm fan was replaced with a 120mm fan. intead of running off the computer power supply like the stock version this unit has a dedicated power supply. The meanwell power supply has a voltage adjustment so i can increase the voltage to the cooling unit. the temps produced are well below ambient so
I had to insulate the unit and do some condensation proofing on the motherboard.

Ended up drilling and dremeling the lian li hard drive cage in order to reverse the HD's so the cable connect at the front of the case.

Had to remove the fan and the frame work that held it and the filter.

Ok, this reverse hard drive mounting is catching on. I am sure someone did it before I did, but this is the third system i have seen with that in the last week.

Looking good, catkicker.

Well finally sometime to work on the case. I'm testing the water cooling loop now. Next on the list is to wire up the coolit freezone and meanwell power supply.
catkicker
Well at long last OS install time. Apparently my floppy dive that is installed in the case is not working so it's back to the old familiar look. a floppy drive dangling from the case:)
SuppA-SnipA_merged
u can slipstream RAID drivers using nLite to ur xp disc smile.gif
