I have a Intel Core™ 2 Quad CPU. I was wondering what is the best power supply that can suit the processor. I was told the one I have; sucked. Who makes the best power supply?
ReelFiles

Sorry Lamont, but I won't help if you won't follow a few simple directions, like write a text signature for yourself as I suggested to you on msn.

Who is Lamont? My name is stinky.

Stinky, I told you about the signature rules, tsk, tsk, tsk

You told me that you bookmarked the rules link I gave you.

Everybody has to play by the rules, buddy, pal.

Signatures may contain images no larger 50kb in size, and be 650x200 pixels.
Signatures may not be larger than 650x300 pixels total. If you have an image that is 650x200, you may not add any text above or below that will make your sig more than a total area of 650x300.

The best are the higher end Seasonic.

a) No ripple.

cool.gif Sick voltage regulation.

c) Always quiet. Not "POWER WHISPER TECHNOLOGY" as in it says quiet on the box but has a 2500 RPM fan.. but actually quiet.

d) No LEDs. smile.gif

How about between these two guys:

Antec True Power Quattro 850W or Gigabyte Odin GT 800W

http://www.hi-techreviews.com/reviews_2007...attro/Page6.htm
http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Gigabyte/Odin_GT_800W/

They are about the same price and I can't decide!

Just go with a Corsair or a PC Power & Cooling and be done with it.

I am happy with my ocz 700watt gamer x stream. Powers everything in my sig just fine no problems. Should be good when i upgrade to a dual core intel or the new quad core.

While all of the PSUs recommended are great...do you necessarily need "the best" PSU? What are you planning on doing with your PC? The system you have now will run fine a mid grade 500 watt PSU. Now, if you plan on over clocking and running some 8800s in SLI then you might need to buy a higher end unit. I see no need for you to spend over $100 for a PSU that will suit your needs. I don't see the point of buying a 700 watt PSU will you will only use half of it...

i wouldnt recommend the corsair. its a great PSU, i have one. but $170???? they sell here for 110
momoceio
Yeah, the prices on the Corsairs seem to have gone up (at least on newegg). I bought mine for about $120 I think.
