I've never used 3DS. Those pics are from the assembly view BTW.
Radodrill, would you mind sharing/uploading your model to rapidshare?
Im really interested in making a custom case, and i LOVE what you did with that one.
Anyway...im all ears.
Thanx a lot mate.
Victor.

I currently don't have a rapidshare account. I can send the models to you through transferbigfiles.com I've got them zipped into a 10.5Mb file.
If you do use some of the parts and put images online (i.e. worklogs etc.), I'd like to receive credit for modeling those parts.
Edit: if you want copies of the models just PM me with your email addy and I'll send it to you through transferbigfiles.com The above still applies; I want to receive credit if anyone uses some of the parts for their own project renderings.
Maybe we should start compiling a database of PC parts rendered in Pro/E; especially since there's one for Sketchup components.

I always take my time when I'm working on this case; since I don't want to end up re-doing stuff. Any "issues" I've had were very minor; such as a lead having broken off of a resistor (for one of foot LEDs), so I had to replace it.

TBH none ; I sent them links to my worklogs (only had the MB panel finished at the time) and a short narrative on what I was doing and they offered to send me all the waterblocks, fill-ports, tubing and discounts on the Rads and pump.
I only now received the supplies since they had the project on hold until I made my final decision on what hardware would be going int the case (i.e. what chipset blocks would be necessary).

Just seems like they are our kind of people. (Kewl and Krazy)

I had designed the case and figured I might as well post worklogs as well. When I contacted DD it was very early in the project; so they must have liked the design/concept and seen potential in it.

I want to see some parts make their way into that case dammit..
J/K.. I know just how it is beating the street for sponsors. It's tough to get people off a little money or product, regardless of whether the advertising will do them any good. That's why it says "Sponsored By My Wallet" on the back of my race car..

I did not realise that the rad is that big. Thats why it performs really well, because of its headroom. Will you be using some sort of a dampening material for the pump?

Radodrill, Hats of to you!!!! This is a great looking case, and I can't wait to see the finished product with all the hardware in it!!!
Congratulations on all the hard work. I know how hard it is to develop a concept from the beginning and design your idea then build your design.
I haven't worked with ProE before, but I have worked with solid works.....(off topic)
This thread really makes me want to build a new rig with an acrylic case!!

You have me thinking about it radodrill!!!! What tools are required in order to do the work with the acrylic? Also, I have no idea what I would need to make. I can make a box, but is there a place that I could get some templates to cut holes for pci slots, and the drive bays etc.?

I used the ATX specsheet to get the placement of the holes for the standoffs and lateral placement of the center of the PCI slots, then took some measurements off my old case to figure out the length of the slots. Mounting hole locations for the PSU are also in the ATX standard.
I've primarily been using a dremel, jigsaw, drill, palm sander (various grits of paper up to 1500, and a bench grinder with cloth buffing wheel. For the slots I used a router with edge-guide; and for rounding the outside edges I used my router table.

I just read through all eight pages of your build log and have subscribed.
You, Sir, should be commended on your patience and attention to detail.
The fact that three well known companies are sponsoring you should give serious attention to the capabilities / abilities you possess.
Your skills and knowledge have shown in the work you have done on this project.
I am waiting patiently for the finished product. This will be good!

I've got some more wiresleeving and CCFLs on their way from A.C.Ryan (using a lot of the 3mm, and the size of the case warrants 2 pairs of each color CCFLs) and DangerDen is sending me a fill-port res as well (only 15cm between the fill-port and the tie-in to the loop)
I'll be mounting 30cm red CCFLs top/bottom, a pair of 30cm UVs in the rear, and a pair of 20cm CCFLs in the front.
I'm still trying to get at least some of the hardware sponsored as well.

About the fastest 4Gb kits I've seen are PC2-6400 (DDR2-800) if they'd allow high OCs on a 1:1 divider then I might go with them instead.

hav u looked a reaper memory rado? i dont now about US prices, but they seem pritty cheep compaired to other simular modules in the UK.
i do like the dominator to, as they are all so well binned, but they seem over priced even so.
take a look at these beasts
http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/AData/D...0-Plus-1GB-Kit/
the techpower bloke had them booting with stock mobo voltage & still had them running @ 1200Mhz
their not in the UK yet, so i hav no idea on their pricing.
