I'm all about buying a quality power supply, but has anyone else seen this article over an Anand Tech?

Enermax had dual Xeon 5150 processors running on a SuperMicro X7DA8 MB, with a Sapphire X1950Pro Dual (crossfire?), and 18 Seagate 7200.10 250GB harddrives all powered by ONE (1) Infinity 720W power supply.

That's a SERIOUS setup that requires tons of power, and they were able to run it all on one 720 Watt PSU?

You can run a serious rig with a very small power supply if you really want.

The problem comes in when that PSU is running at 100% output for long periods of time. It's just not a good idea.

Loading a quality PSU to between 40% and peaking at 80% is the best way to make sure your rig keeps running for the long term. Keeping the PSU from generating a lot of internal heat is another way to get long live and stable current from a PSU.
