Without hand tools and experience I am afraid I am going screw up my case big time.

Looking for people or workshop with skills to mod my Lian-li PC-V2100 Plus II case for watercooling. I know there are a lot of companies offer modding service in US but shipping my case through the custom will be a nightmare

Does anyone know any personal workshops or companies in Vancouver (preferrable) or in Canada?

Thanks smile.gif

going slow at your own pace and tools is the best. even if it takes time.. i mean you can run the PC on its mobo box just fine.
i believe it give that satisfaction factor. lol (for me anyways)

all you need is painters masking tape, or painting auto tape. (3M makes good stuff)
a cordless drill with a 2mm and 3mm drill bit. maybe a tight angle drill kit (for rivets and opening holes for dremeling or cutter)
a dremel with a couple of burs.

pencil. ruler. compass (draws the circle thingy)

just remember to tape ALOT
i mean like 5 layers of tape. enough so if you slip the dremel. itll bite like the first 3 layers only or something

i work at a auto body shop. and i mess with 30grit grinders spinning at 10k rpms around things like headlights.. having alot of tape helps. saves alot of headache

measure twice. cut once. never cut dead on your drawn lines. cut until like 3mm. then use a dremel to finish the circle

youd prolly have to spend about 100$~ on tools. maybe less

remember the TAPE! swear by tape as itll save your ass many many times.

tape has many uses. tape your doors and windows shut. tape your tummy to look slimmer. tape your wife's mouth so she doesnt nag!

oh the wonderfully uses of TAPE!

Ha ha ha. biggrin.gif I will definately keep that in mind. You can put that into Wikipedia as the definition of tapes wink.gif

I am thinking modding my lian-li PC-V2100 use UncleDavid's V2000 WC as reference. After cutting, do I use the dremel to smoothen the edge of the fan hole or mold it?

well. you can use his as a ref.

just tape tape tape. then measure however many 120 holes you need
use your compass and finish the circles. you can draw crosslines from the dots (where the fan screws go thru) to the dots on the other side diagonally to make sure you circles are inline (straight)

or the square box if you have like a acryan grille or something.

its kinda hard to explain here. but you can see pics in alot of worklogs of what i mean

this technique can be used for everything. even tiling your kitchen floor.

you would use the dremel to cut AND smooth. thats why i said get some different burs

ranging from cutting disks, to shavers, polishers, etc.

so mark. use your cordless drill and drill entry holes inside your circles parameter.

1- gives you opening to cut
2- the more the easier.
which is what i myself think.

usually i drill alot of holes . the drill is faster then a dremel in taking off sheer metal. so that means less dremeling time.

or hell. you can just use the drill by itself and drill out the circle. then dremel. up to you.

just be careful if you plan to drill alot. dont lean onto the case. itll bend aluminum. just make sure you bit is sharp and light force to make holes

then finish up with sandpaper carefully.. it hurts to get pricked by metal. so dremel nicely and slowly if you need too. (do not remove tape if you are scared)

then after that. cleanup. satisfaction moment with a cold beer. mwuahah

i might make a worklog for my new pc build i finally got around after 3 years of waiting.
modding a G5 case to fit a wc. i know its been done alot. but its fun . got a great deal on a brand new factory shipped g5 case for cheap.
