A relative of mine is having the following problem. A comp that is about 4 years old, gigabyte mobo, 1gb ram, 6800 128mb, aspire 400w psu, athlon 3200. Plugged in an MP3 players and the computer cut off, next boot up gave the send error report message in windows, and now when they try to start it up they get just a flicker from the internal lights. I figure its PSU related, and ideas to the contrary? tongue.gif

Sounds like PSU or a short circuit to me. Did the USB port get damaged?

I would say this is a mobo issue but then I saw the word Aspire, and agree with reelfiles that it would be best to test the PSU before saying the board is dead - this has happened a few times on my DFI DAGF. The BIOS that fixes it is the BIOS with dual core fixes for the X2(that work as dual core fuckups for the opteron series), so I can't use it.
