Once again I turn to the experts for some much needed advice. In what seems to be a futile attempt to find the perfect Modular power supply (for my needs) I have narrowed it down to the Corsair Hx520 and the Silverstone Strider 600w. The Silverstone actually meets my needs aestetically, I'm just a little confused on the specs.

SilverStone:
33A @ 3.3v
24A @ 5.5v
13A @ 12v1
18A @ 12v2
16A @ 12v3
8A @ 12v4

Corsair:
24A @ 3.3V DC - Output Current
24A @ 5V DC - Output Current
18A @ 12V DC - V1Output Current
18A @ 12V DC - V2Output Current
18A @ 12V DC - V3Output Current

Is the even distribution across the rails better for performance? Stability? etc. Does the difference in the 3.3v matter much? I'm not even sure exactly what questions I need to ask.

This will be for the components in my sig, however the mobo will be changed from an Ultra-D to an SLI-DR. I have read that the DR's are picky with certain PSU's and I just want to make sure I choose the best one for my set-up.

Any recommendations or advice would be greatly appreciated.

If I have this correctly, in the future if you go with some power hungry video cards, you will be using one rail for each card. That would leave you with the 3rd rail for everything else. You might want to get something a little more powerful to future-proof it as much as you can.

See my sig for what the Corsair can handle If you aren't using one of the rails on the Corsair, it will "combine" (so to speak) with the other rails - adding that available power to what you're actually running ATM. Corsair's PSUs are made by Seasonic - and theirs are topnotch. Either unit will be fine, but the cabling on the Corsair is fantastic. Very thin and flexible - just like Ultra's Flexforce cables.

Very happy with my Corsair 520 especially as it was only £70.....good by U.K pricing standards.

Get the Corsair the 12V rails are even @18A and the 5Vsb is 3.0A.

Not sure but I thought that that 18A spec was maximum under multiple 12v rails.
In other words, the HX-520 is NOT capable of 54 Amps.
Maybe Yellowbeard can clarify.
Everyone I have talked to loves both PSUs.

I'd get the Antec TruePower Trio 650...for the price not much can come close to it. Also, ZipZoomFly has the 620HX for $125 after rebate which is a helluva deal considering the 520HX is $140 on newegg. Even without the rebate you can pick it up for $145. No reason not to go for that over the other two PSUs you have listed.

I'd go with either an Antec TruePower Trio 650 or Corsair 620HX...both can be had for cheaper than the 520HX.

The Antec can be bought for $99 AR or $120 without the rebate. This power supply is much better than their previous series of PSUs. I would definetely consider it over the other two you are looking at.

The 620HX can be picked up for $125 AR!!! You can't beat that deal...it's cheaper than the 520HX and even without the rebate it only costs $145.

The Truepower Trio can be had for less (I've seen $70 at Fry's), but the HX620 should be more expensive than the HX520, but hey that's a benefit to us consumers if it's not

The HX520 provides a max of 40A on the 12v rails, while the HX620 provides a max of 50A.
