So I have wanted to get into a case mod for awhile. I found this great case on SCV, which Soundx98 and t_ski have used in the past.
I am going to assume that you all know what the case looks like by now. I would love to take pics but I don't have a camera right now.
Well I was slightly disappointed by the case, but hey, it was 20 bucks (before shipping).
Now the case wasn't as deep (front to back) as I would have hoped. In fact is is roughly 4 inches shallower then my midtower (but like 8 inches taller). So most of my ideas are now getting thrown out the door.
Anyways to the ideas.
1) Remove everything from the inside of the case (which means a ton of rivets to get drilled out).
2) Move the mobo try to the middle. This way the PSU will sit at the bottom (I will stealth the bottom). Also on the bottom will be pump and hard drives.
now I got to thinking about this more and more (as I am sitting here typing and looking at the case) New ideas are fun. Radiator (240) at the top like in t-ski's mod. Then in the middle front will go res for wc, along with optical drives. Then above that will be switches and something real fun, a can holder. Now you may ask why a can holder, I don't know why. Why not? This thing will be a lanparty machine (and not just for the mobo either:cool: ). Plus I only need 2 switches, power and one to open and close the cd drive.
For color I was thinking black and green acrylic.
Ideas? Comments? Concerns?
also for you going to MNPCTECH, I plan on going, and if I do, I shall bring the case with, but I don't really have an plans to start modding yet, mainly because wrestling just started and I have no time or money.
too many ideas running threw head. Need some parts to really start thinking here.

I have one of those cases that I'm planning to mod in the near future. One of the things that I was considering was moving the PSU to the bottom. I guess great minds think alike (or at least Frozen minds do).
As far as the camera goes, you can pick up one of the disposable ones with flash for about $10 or so at the discount stores. They do a fairly decent job as long as you don't get too close.

Well there 2 or 3 well experienced SVC $19.99 Case, case modders around the street I'm sure they will be of help to you.
couple of things.
rivets are a piece of cake.
maybe a filport with
T instead of a Reservoir save some room and avoid possiable leakage from a res.
Great pump for your case. Small and powerfull. MCP355

yes cpu and video card will be water cooled.
I thought about fillport and res. Nothing is set in stone yet.
I have a digi around, just I lost the cord, and it eats up batteries like nothing.

I found the case too small in the end and ditched my project. Let me know if you need some spare parts, I might have some in the garage.

Check SoundX98's or T-Ski's threads on their mods of this case. One of them mentioned how to get it of. I think it just snaps off and on, but I can't be sure.

yes I got it off. I managed to break 1 slot cover and the restart, power led and HDD led group thing.
But hey they weren't that important anyways

You should be able to just grab the bottom front and pull forward.

Updates: Started working on the case
First: I pretty much ditched the water cooling idea. I could do it, but I want a case that I can move around easy and all. Plus I have have 2-3 120s in and a 120 blow hole and the psu out
Second: Do I do something different and mount the handles on the side (ogre suggested that) or should I put them on the top and put a blow hole in

like the top fan idea, warm air rises?? so get it out of there

yea the blow hole is staying.
I have determined 3 120mm in the front, wired together, the blowhole, and 2 80mm in the back wired together. That means I have to fit a disc drive, fan controller, 2 buttons and a hard drive somewhere in that case (I want the bottom where the mobo is CLEAN)

well I came to this thread to find some information but I figured I might as well give you guys an update.
I have sanding the top and bottom, cut 2 parts, and got the case handles and blowhole done.
But I have started to think about water cooling again. My only problem would be mounting the radiator somewhere. The back as absolutly no room, but the front has more then enough space for a 360 radiator. So here is my question. Is it a good idea to mount a rad in the front and allow all the air to flow threw the case. I can't mount it on the bottom with my current plan because I was thinking of putting the psu there, plus I wouldn't have space. ofcourse I could solve this by keeping psu at the top and just moving the mobo up, but then I have mounting problems with the psu. I don't think I would have room for a 240 rad at the bottom and a psu, infact I think a 120 rad with psu would be a tight fit.
Ideas?
also here is the
worklogsorry for off site link but I don't want to copy and past it all AGAIN.
