Hey guys currently the side of my case has a large amount of mesh over it letting air and sound in and out. So do you guys think preplacing it with plexiglass is a good idea? Or should I keep the mesh. It is very loud, and it seems that all the fans in the system are doing is pulling air from the outside instead of hot air out of the case.

case pics or spec?

If the fans are pulling in the cool air from outside the case.... then there should be less heat inside the case. Plexiglass will help trap sound slightly but if it increases temperatures... then you need faster/louder fans and the cycle begins!

fans are already v. loud. but what it seems it is doing is pulling air from the outside then pushing it right out. instead of pulling air from the insed of the case and pusing it out. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16811105144 the blue on that on the side, it is mesh.

Hmmmm... You can try using an air duct like this one from Lian Li: http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/ind...roducts_id=3240

I'm a bit confused. Are you saying the air doesn't seem to pass over the CPU, VGA, etc. as much as you think it would? The ideal air cooling system is a nice push-pull that introduces fresh, cool air while exhausting hot, stale air.

If your fans are not adequately cooling the hardware you might want to think about directing the airflow, either by fan position or channeling.

And I would think that case would look tons better with plexi.

for that I would set all the fans to blow out and use the large space provided by the mesh to draw all your air in, directly over what you want to be cooled!

If you put in plexiglass draw air through the front and out the back

a large fan directly over the mobo pushing air on it woul help too.

I think I may put a piece of plexi over it and then drill a few holes in it so I can mount a fan over the mobo and get some better cooling

if X amount of air gets in the case...then the same amount should be exhausted by those fans...thats the principle of case cooling (imho) tongue.gif

leave the mesh on .. and tape the holes.. do it the lazy way smile.gif

the case you posted only has one 80mm fan i presume you have others

an as boo says positioning is everything for positive airflow

Do what i do, take both side panel's off and put them in the closet smile.gif I have 1x80mm fan cooling my HDD, and 1x80mm fan directed at my mobo.
