To my knowledge, there are only two places where you can get "Modder Mesh". MNPCTech had some great honeycomb and round sheets. Unfortunately, they are sold out and only have 1x1" round sheets left. The other modding mesh I found is sold by AC Ryan as MeshX. However, this stuff is strong but VERY restrictive... I would guess less than 30% airflow. MeshX is no good for covering fans.

Most companies only sell perforated metal sheets in bulk and I personally don't think I will ever use 20-100ft of the stuff. I've been looking around and finally found a site that sells to end-users. They sell in 1x1" and 1x2" sheets. I also recommend using 22-18 gauge thickness and go for the aluminum or stainless steel. Stainless Steel Grade 304 is the most common kind you will find. Grade 316 is better at corrosion resistantence in chloride environments. Plain steel requires sealent or paint to prevent rusting. Plastic is ugly... but whatever floats your boat.

They have a few other interesting PC parts:

OPPS! Fixed.

Talk about selection... You can select the exact hole size from those guys. The AC Ryan stuff seems like it would be good to make a moded side of a case. But that stuff you found would be perfect for so many uses. Great find! biggrin.gif

Great source for ANY type of industrial supplies, including sheet metal and mesh.

Fast shipping, too! They are like the "NewEgg" of industrial supplies.

Here's another source for modder's mesh:

http://www.crazypc.com/products/200.html

Only $6.95 a square foot, and the holes are very open. Just like the stuff I bought from a guy on another forum, but this is silver (mine's black).

The guy I bought mine from on Xoxide forums probably still has a lot. If anyone is interested and can't find the stuff there, LMK and I'll get the link for you. His is selling for $7.50 shipped for the first foot IIRC.

Thanks for the additional links and providing more choices at different prices! Saving them now. Is there a sticky for mod part suppliers? Off beat places like McMasters or Mouser? Is it worth starting one?

I have a 12x20in sheet of black AC Ryan mesh. Anyone interested in buying it for $10 + shipping? Let me know.

You'd need to list that in the For Sale forum as this is not the place. wink.gif

Neoprene...heh. I'd love to construct a MB encasement from PVC with gaskets for wires, trimmed holes for vid card, memory, etc. and wrap the thing in neoprene. Then a couple 60mm fans on front of the casement for intake and two more on rear for exhaust to keep the board ambients down. God, if I had the balls I'd attempt that LOL

Kinda like HP Resurrection II Evolution: http://www.thebestcasescenario.com/forum/s...hread.php?t=549
