So thanks to the help from a number of people on here, I've now completed my first real mod, the blowhole. I've never really don't anything like this before so it's not great but it's working the way it should. Here's some pics to look at and tell me what you think.

So as you can see this is before

here's a close up of the blowhole

here's a picture of it from inside the case

and this ones just another picture of the inside, as you can see the cabling has been fixed abit as well

Not bad for a first timer smile.gif Just slap a grill on there and you're good to go...
Crazy_Nate_merged
You can always touch up anything cut with a dremel by using a file. It's cheap and effective, you just need to put a little 'elbow grease' into it. Looks good for a first try!
Someguy333
thanks, I just need to decide what grill to get. I like the look of the wire grills, only problem is I'm not sure how that'll look covering a hole like this.
OldGuy
While a wire grill won't cover the hole it will detract from the actual cutout....unless soemone wants to scrutinize your work and rip on ya for less than perfection......then you just whack em' up side the head with yer keyboard smile.gif

kudos on the mod!

what case is that ? I dont even see the powersupply
Someguy333
lol, ya I could just hit them, only I don't want to do that with my keyboard, I like my G15.

wangerin the case is a yeong yang something...

this is the case
Someguy333
Also I did some work with a file, I just didn't want to file it down too much and open the whole any more. Just enough to smooth out the edges enough.

Nice job!

Welcome to the "modder's club"!

where did you get that case
Someguy333
I bought the case from a friend, who bought it I think 2 years ago. He had to order it in from somewhere.

Also he's the one that did the lights underneath and the mirror at the bottom of the mobo side, which you can see in the last picture.

Hey, Guy'
I am just curious as to why you guys here dont make a complete circle with you're cuts?
Even the templates happy generously provides are that way why????
ReelFiles
I was looking at those cases a while back, they are sweet. I didn't even realize which case it was. From your pics it looks like tower, with out a PSU.

www.FrozenCPU.com has fan grills that should cover the octagon shaped hole's edges, at least make them less noticeable.
Someguy333
brother, I cut it that way cause it's easier to cut straight lines with a jigsaw then a perfect circle. If I was using a dremel or a whole saw I would have done round.

I just got this case on sunday and I'm loving it already. I really like having the open side with only the mobo and cards.

mind if I ask how much you paid for it from a friend?
Someguy333
I gave him $100 for it.
ReelFiles
Nice deal, that case gets a bit pricey once you add shipping, I forgot how much exactly.
Someguy333
I remember he said it had cost him around $400 with shipping and duty to canada.
ReelFiles
He could have bought it for half that [$201 (CAN) / $150 (U.S)]:

This place has some really good pics of that case:

Someguy333
well keep in mind it was about $400 cdn with shipping, taxes and duty fees, a few years ago. So after a few years it's likely the price would have dropped.
Brother Esau
Boy they really stick it you boys in canada WOW.
