Ok I have this question about this resitor set up I want to know if the resistor I circled in red should be connected on one end to all LEDs on the positive side then the resistor is grounded on one end and the Leds are grounded to there own ground OR Are the Leds positive leads the ones coming from the chip and the Negative leads are the ones that are all connected to ground through the 220 Ohm resistor. Or could someone just explain how the Leds are connected to the Resistor circled in Red. Thanks.

that diagram doesn't seem to make sense to me. not sure what good a resister would do on the ground side of a LED

I didn't make this diagram up there schematic I got from the a place on the net. That is my problem though, I'm not sure what is going on there. I'm thinking I should put the 220 Ohm resistor on the positive side of the Leds between the Led and the Micro Chip and just run all the Leds through that one resistor since they don't all light up at the same time they can all run off that one resistor. What ya think?

Do you have the legend for that?

no but I can label it if ya want, all the deals coming off the Microchip on the right are Leds, the chip in the center is a 555 timmer chip and the chip to the left is a saftey that blocks access to the HDD lead if somethign goes wrong with the circuit (short or something like that), the 68 K is a resistor, the 47 K is a resistor, and the 1uF is a capacitor. other than that I think the rest is preaty self explanitory. I just can't decide if I should use one seperate resistor per Led or none at all. The Leds I'm using are from Super Bright Led and there super bright, lol.

unless the output from the IC is more then a couple volts you shouldn't need a resistor.
i don't much more then basic electronic priciples so there maybe something i just don't know about here, but that resistor seems pointless.

Well that's kind of what I was thinking, But I was like wondering if I was missing something myself. Just wanted to get some opinions on it in case I was missing something.
