was just curious if i could spray paint the Thermaltake Smartfan II fans i am going to buy black with no problems with the fan cause i don't know about you guys but i find that orange horrid
Psywar
yes... u can.. make sure on the back where the nut is.. u cover it up.. or else u will screw up the oil for the barings.. u can take the fan apart and paint it which would be tons better..

but if not just cover up the hole..

thanx man my case stays pretty cool but the cooler the better right? so i figured i'd invest in some of these smart fans cause thats whats on my volcano 9 man these babies can really move some air compared to the crap ones i bought with the led's in them hmmmm led's or temp reduction?
bishop245
just get some tornadoes if you want airflow at a high volume tongue.gif
Sly_C
holy jesus! now thats one amazing fan i was sitting here looking at the smartfans and was thinking oh yeah 75.7 cfm and then i see this monster at 84.1 cfm man i bet thing thing is redicuoulsy loud just like these thermaltakes the page has a warning on it saying ur computer must be able to take the air flow...how can air flow hurt a computer?
Psywar
u cant push airflow that u dont have in ur case smile.gif

yes I am running the tornado.. its loud as can be.. thats why I made a switch for it to switch between 7 and 12 volts..
Sly_C
i ahve six crappy fans and man i bet two tornados would put those six to shame
bishop245
yes they would laugh.gif
Sly_C
on those cheap little like $2 fans my comp stays in about the 80 degree farenhiet range i bet if i took out all six of those fans and put in two tornados it would be much less put on in my window and one as a blowhole on the top. sound good?
bishop245
1 in front 1 in back i think would be better but unless you like the sound of an f-16 at takeoff all the time i wouldnt do it lol tornadoes are VERY loud i run 1 also on my v11 heatsink much better than the smartfan2 that came with it but also much louder also
Sly_C
yeah i have teh smartfan with coolmod running on my volcano nine i didn't think u could get much louder than that, until now anyway. they are expensive fans though i think i am just going to go with the smartfan II's cause they move almost as much air as the tornado give or take 10cfm, i also like that the smartfans because they are that, smart, and u don't ahve to keep adjusting them they slow ehn the case cools and speed up when the case is hot the tornado doesn't ahve that right?
bishop245
tornadoes that i have seen run full blast and thats it unless you hook them to a reobus
Sly_C
alright i think i am just going to go with the like two painted smart fans. Maybe'll I'll paint them black and then paint them with some blue uv reactive paint or something. sound good?
bishop245
try it with a cheap fan first and see how it looks if it works let us know lol

btw what led fans are you running right now cause my antecs push about 30cfm
Sly_C
just some cheap generic ones i bought off of xpcases.com
http://www.xpcases.com/shop/item.asp?CatID=18&Sku=481
i bought four of those and my case came with about two in it that are about the same. the page says they move 37 cfm. either I am overestimating what 37 cfm should be cause it doesn't seem like they are moving much through there or xpcases.com lies lol btw do they make uv reactive spray paint?
bishop245
yes they make uv reactive spray paint i have seen it at compusa and xoxide i believe
Sly_C
and it comes in all the different colors?

edit:
nevermind i found out it on xoxide.com so i think i am going to spray paint them black them spray paint the uv reactive blue on them, hten it says sto spray a laquer over it
wenis
