Well I told a friend that I would do some research for him. Here is the problem. Whenever he turns on/off his CCFL it will shutdown his computer. Anyone ever heard of this problem before

could be a power spike that the psu dont like

He said that he moved it around on his psu - ill ask

turn the ccfl on turns the computer on or the other way around?
Psywar
on a very weird occurance it could be grounding out when he turns it on/off.. and basicly shorts out the computer.. normally when u short or ground it out.. it will auto turn the comp back on.. so it basicly restarts it.. but sometimes it wont..

tell him to check the wires.. make sure their are no barewires showing.. or touching anything metal.. etc.

What kind of PSU does he have? it could be that if the ps is overloading(too much stuff fans, this, that) it could shut itself down instead of frying something thus shutting the computer down.I'd suggest unplugging a few things and try the ccfl again wink.gif
