Hi,

I'd just like to call on all those who've cooler modded/replaced a BFG 6800Gt. This is the first time I'm doing a VGA cooler replacement, and I'm a bit stuck, literally and figuratively.

Basically, I cannot get the BFG fan off the board. It's stuck with a glue-gun dollop on the wire, plus, the power connector seems stuck in the socket as well.

Any suggestions/tips?

Thanks

try heating up the drop of glue (if its that from plastic guns) and gently removing the connector... if its not, try bending it a little.
About the fan...you should be able to get it out when its warm...try twisting it a bit...it should come off easy.

Heh, I used the most expensive tool in my kit --- my teeth!! That got the power out of the socket, and I managed to pull the glue off the board without any breaks

Hey Pr3d, there are a few aussies on here...I put in a Zalman VF 700, and cleaned up my rig a bit as well. Idle temps jumped down 20 deg to 50C!! Haven't loaded tested but it's looking fun. Too bad my CPU temp never give me such performance.
