hey i posted previously about perspex etching...well i did all that i etched a mad picture of batman into my window kit and it looks nice...im just wondering wat would be the most effective way to light it. i have two 8 inch red cathodes but im not sure where to put them to get the best effect and im starting to think that maybe two cathodes is too bright...wat is everyone elses experience with this?

If you want to light up your etching, those cold cathodes aren't what most people use. Here's a link to a worklog which will explain the principles of using LED's to do what you want:

The same principle is used to "light up" etched windows.

hmmm wat about EL cable? if i put that around the edges of the window do u think it would light it up? just gotta figure out a good one to get coz last time i bought EL cable the inverter made the most anoying high pitch whine! any way of mounting with out using an inverter?
