wow looks good. nice job!

Nice one. How did you attach the clear panels?
hardwarefreek
Clear sealant! Applied to case, placed window on & weighed it down for 2 hours! I wanted a clean finish that I coluld remove easily if I scratched it or wanted to mod it further, I used pop rivets on my (crap) case & it looked too "industrial"

Holes were cut with a Jigsaw & fine toothed metal blade & hand finished with a fine file, I used a coin to draw round the case lock as a guide to space the pencil line evenly round the curve, then removed the lock to cut the panel, it worked pretty well. THe rest was done on thick card as a template adjusted, cut out & traced onto the panel., the CD/RW etc had the front panels removed & sprayed the same colour as the case & switches installed to switch the cathodes & fan speed.

EDIT:
This was done 4 months ago, I WILL (sometime) get the cables tidied etc & maybe a window etch. I actually had an offer fron www.overclock.co.uk to make windows mods for them but, it was going to be too expensive to make it viable.

Nice job. I would like to try something with my old full tower side panels but I dont have the proper cutting tools as of yet
hardwarefreek
Go for it, borrow the toolz!

Really nice job, lot of time went into that I bet! wink.gif

Hey O(V)eGA_l2el) "I dont have the proper cutting tools as of yet"

I'll lend you the Angle Grinder laugh.gif laugh.gif

Thanks!
Only a few days, mostly watching paint dry! The cutting & window plexi was done in one evening.

My fave bit is seeing the window fan cooling that OC/ed Gfx card!

Making a little room and putting your buddy on the desk would look even better you'd even be tempted to add a UV CCFL wink.gif
bishop245
nice job on the mod biggrin.gif
hardwarefreek
I have a UV now, added yesterday! , doesn't seem to do much though. I may have to switch it on separately from the other 3 CCFL's maybe they are too bright?
bishop245
what all uv reactive stuff do you have in your case and where is it compared to the uv ccfl that can make a difference
hardwarefreek
Don't know if I have any UV reactive stuff in there, I got the tube for free so it wasn't a planned mod, any suggestions?

I mounted the UV directly onto & below the top blue ccfl They are in plexi casings
bishop245
just go to the store and get some uv pens lol and use them on the caps on the mobo and stuff

check this out also for some ideas

That looks soooo cool! Watch this space.

ph34r.gif wow i think i saw that on the cover of a magazine.. rofl

It looks really nice man! And some UV will make it look even nice. I think, as bishop recomended, a UV pen could really spice things up. smile.gif
hardwarefreek
Here is a new photo with neon pens (is that the right ones? I tried a UV security pen but for some reason I couldn't see it, could that be my cathodes being too bright?
hardwarefreek
Another one! I think the UV cathode is really a waste of time till I get rounded cables or something.

how did u get that coloring? is it blue at the bottom and red at the top? is that it?
Transattic
i suggest that u have use that switch to use either blue or uv... i think u do but that helps a lot for the uv reactives

crap that makes the wiring tough, I'll neeed another inverter then, because the switch operates both tubes only :-(
