Hi all, I just set up my new system that's in my sig, a couple days ago. I find temperatures @ 250x10 to not be the most encouraging, and I believe it to be part of my poor wiring skills.

I've modded my Lian Li PC-65 so I could run most of my Power supply wires around the back of the motherboard tray (which has helped immensly) but I'm still having trouble getting these ATA and other miscellaneous cables out of the way and into a good spot.

I also have an X-Fi platinum with the added 5.25" Module, of course creative ships that product with an Old School Ribbon cable that's just killing my air flow as well.

I see some of your guys' case pics and your systems are so neat and tidy. Please help this wiring n00b out and give suggestions.

I'm willing to buy new cables if it comes to that. Just tell me what I need to do. Thanks all.

I have an OCZ powerstream and a similar case..

I'm getting great airflow in my case. I used a few zip ties and the velcro to make the wires as tight as possible and i tucked the excess above the cd drive.

I'm getting no wire fuss at all and its very organized all it took was 1 -- 4 way molex wire thing and the dual SATA wire and my whole system was powered.

Here are some pics. Let me know what you think.

cmay119-if you'd post a pic or two we'd be able to help more.

Sorry, I decided to finally take measures into my own hands. Here's some before and after pictures. I think I've got it as good as I'm going to get it with these cables...

So by what you guys see here, is there stuff I should still do to get better cable management going? Or does it look as good as it's gonna get? Thanks smile.gif

I have a PC65 as well and it is a struggle sorting the cables out.

A couple of suggestions.

Dump the floppy drive if you have one(looks like it from the pics).Who really uses one nowadays anyway apart from bios flashing? If I need to do a bios update I just plug the cable in and hang the floppy out the side of the machine.

Although I have just bought a USB floppy as I also have a laptop now which is even easier.

The Creative cable for the Soundcard could you not route it up behind the mobo and then out the side of it to the front bay?

The Zalman bracket is that for your ram or the PWMIC?If its for the PWMIC I found that you can get decent airflow over it by mounting the fan in the 5.25 bay and then having it blowing across the board towards the rear fan.I just used double sided tape to hold mine in place.

The only other thing I would do would be to sort out the fan wiring(its not going to impede airlfow) but it looks untidy. The back fan could do with sleeving and then run the cable across the top of the mobo tray and secure it with some of those sticky clips similar to the twist clips already used for the front fans.

Oh yeah also consider a proper fan controller as its not a good idea to run the fans off the headers on the mobo(a lot of controllers come with extension leads) so you can then route wirea even better.

I have not got any pics of my case I as I stripped it to get it reanodised and chemically polised and its still in bits so cant really show you what I mean.

Hope all that helps

I didnt get to see the pics but you can turn HDD around and have them face backwards.

Here's my Before with 2 PSU's lol

and with side on

I just moved the other PSU above the cdrom and ran the cables down the front of the case

If you can stand the noise I have a 130CFM delta 120mm hitting the board full force and it keeps my temps way down, I recently put it on the zalman fan mate adjustable thing and i can get it very quiet with still good airflow

Just curious why that system needs two power supplies???
