Well I got bored over spring break and had been thinking of what I wanted on my case that the more expensive ones had, and I decided to make a new hard drive rack that would hold the drives perpindicular to the mobo making a cleaner looking case, and also giving more airflow and access to the mobo. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures in progress as I didn't have my camera, so If you've got any questions on process ask away and I'll answer them as best as I can. I'm fairly pleased with how the rack turned out, except there are a couple sets of holes that aren't exactly in the correct spot, preventing getting all the thumbscrews in and having the hdds parallel to each other. The holes line up perfect on the other side and all the thumbscrews are in, but oh well. I'm planning on fixing that by milling a vertical slot in the center of the vertical pieces, so instead of having just a hole it will be a long slot so I can get every thumbscrew in, and also adjust each harddrive to be parallel.
While I had it torn apart I also put the front case door on our mill and milled out the slots on the front to make them both larger diameter and longer, and I added one more slot on the top. Everything on that went great till haveway through the last slot when I broke my endmill, so I had to switch to a different endmill and so the top slot looks a little off under close inspection but from more then a foot it looks pretty good.
I also cut fan grills out for better airflow and cleaned up the wiring. I'm in the process of gettin a new graphics card and fan speed controller, which I will then add some switches to the speed controller to control the led's and UV lights. If anyone has any suggestions or ideas let me know. I'm having problems loading pics on imageshack, so once I get more up I'll post a few more of the mods and also of my shop.
