Okay, i attempted to change my PSU fans w/ silent ones.

The replacement fans are a 92 arctic cooling fan as well as an 80mm.

I had to convert them to 2 pin connectors so i spliced and attached them accordingly.

However, when i turn on my computer now. Only 1 of the fans work. The other (80mm) doesn't spin.

The 80mm has a positive, ground, and yellow (data). I connected them to the 2 pin adapter and matched them up --BUT-- i attached the yellow (data) cable to the BLUE psu cable (psu monitor wire).

Did i do something wrong here? my psu exhaust fan isn't spinning now.

Do you still have warranty on that PSU? If you do why didn't you just RMA it back? You Avoid your warranty just by opening that and breaking the seal if you didn't know. I don't know man, i wouldn't go inside of a PSU if my life depended on it, it can kill you.

I don't need it RMA'ed it was working fine. I just thought the fans were a bit loud. It's not too tough replacing fans, i just wanted to make sure if connecting the yellow datacable (from fan) to blue psu wire (psu fan monitor) was okay to do.

Ah the memories. Such a fun game! :tooth: As far as warranties go, this is the mod part of the forum. Voided warranties should be, like, a motto here or something lol. I know I've voided my share, and I don't plan on stopping any time soon hehe.

Neither one of those links mentioned it and I never heard of doing that, but I am sure it can be done. I take it your PSU used to regulate the fan itself?

somehow my psu broke, LOL! i don't beleive it had anything to do w/ the wiring. Mobo lights don't turn on anymore. I just ordered a replacement just incase i can't get this fixed.

Any ideas where i can send it to get it fixed?
