i read soemwhere that there is a revison of this board and if your board is made after this revison then it cant be moded. is this true?

No, but they put epoxy over the contacts on the later boards that you have to scrape off first.

That's what I used. Make sure you have a good sharp knife like an Exacto and be VERY careful scraping off the epoxy. It COMPLETLY covers the contacts.

Actually it teaches you to be at least a little careful/nervous with components as you're gonna have to reinstall the chipset cooler... which can be nerve-wracking if you're new at it. (I thought i cracked my chipset installing my VC-RE x_x)

I got my ultra-d about a year or little longer ago, anyone know the chances of it having epoxy over the contacts?

i forgot to tell you all how it went! the first 2 tries i was scared to scrape to hard then i decided not to be a pu$$y about it is was only a bill, i finally got it on the thrid try. Anyway it is a nice board and going to be adding a xp-90 and a VC-RE when i get more time, thanks for the help
