Fun site to play with Power Supply forecasting. Allows very few settings for overclocked systems but still able to change to higher equivalents for better accuracy. Ie overclocked video card perform similar to next model up...

Try it out and lets make this site a sticky for all those PSU questions we all see:
Notice at the top of the page (flashing in RED letters), at the PSU calculator the required minimum amperage for the +3.3, +5, and +12 volt rails.

LOL only 271w for me.

Here's a link to a "Golden Oldie" Power Supply calculator I posted a few years back. You may want to compare the two results.

I think you forgot something... rolleyes.gif
PL4YD34D
very interesting, but i wonder how accurate? fun tho.
mine says 350w exactly. under full load i reckon i might hit more like 400 but its close. what it doesnt account for is the rails amperage and stability, could mislead people to think they can go an buy some coolermaster 400w for $50.

280w. Haha...right...

Whoops! and a big tip of the soundx98 hat to Loony

Mine sez 345 w/ the graphics card I ordered computer not overclocked. 408 estimated overclocked(Somewhat). And 508 w/the card I want. More when I get w/c on it.(But that'll go onna' a diffrent psu)
Edit:PS "Sound" You forgot the link bud!....Hehe....

Edit2: Oh there it is! You musta' posted it when I wasn't lookin' LOL

Edit3: "Sounds" calculator sez 372watts not overclocked.

Wattage formula is volts time amps. Now add what you think are using and compare to the calculator. I know some of you are going by gut feel and not by actual current consumption rated by the manufacturers which is causing much confusing among new DFI motherboard owners.

PL4YD34D has the only peripherals thus far exceeding 300 watts listed in the signature. So I will use your setup as an example. smile.gif

If you want a reliable setup than most manufacturers recommend 65% to 80% load range on their power supplies (maximum efficieny range for most suppliers). Then the recommended PSU range for PL4YD34D would be 438 to 538 watts. The higher the better due to future expansion capability and long term reliability.

I once found a power calculator the listed device's in subgroups,to as which rail they were pulling the power off of and watts per device per rail.(Wish I could find it again) I had big problems with my infinity and 480watts. (Some powersupplies have all the watts on the 5v rails.(Not Good)) Problem seems fixed now though smile.gif

625 watt for me. Nice to have some expansion room . . .
G.N.U.Fragman
369W for me

('[G.N.U.)
Fragman']369W for me

I added teh power generator for my wife's unmentionable toy collection (ok, they are mine, I admit it). Now it seems I need 2-3 terawatts
