Hi guys...

Just wondering...
My mobo doesnt have the Front-X connector panel..but was thinking because the connector terminals can still be seen on the mobo, does it have the functionality..? I mean those points, are they functional.. Have anybody tried..?
I was thinking of using a dmm and check if i get any current there while booting up, and if so, maybe can built a front-x myself tongue.gif
maybe i'm just stupid..
Before I do anything more stupid, just thought of asking you guys.. Any ideas guys...? rolleyes.gif

Thanks...!

Don't no for sure but I bet they work, only good for diagnostic leds though.

Dian leds?
Anyway any idea how much current I can draw.. I dont want to draw too much out and damage the board. Like how much mA's?
Does anybody have any idea...? I was thinking about a 7-segment display, so if I know how much power I can draw, I can keep it out of danger..
I haven't seen a Front-X panel, but i think they use normal LEDs..don't they?
I'm guessing it gives out the same current as other LED connectors, such as POWER LED, HDD LED connector in the mobo.
Thanks guys...

Not everybody with a DFI SLI-DR use the front panel diagnostic led lights... pehaps it would be easier to buy it from one of these users instead of messing things up.

If you know how to work with electronic components it wouldn't be hard to do it...

Eve if I buy thye front panel, the connector pins r not there.. i will have to solder them anyway.. i'm thinking of 7 segment dispaly.. know some electronic stuff... would be ok once i know the current and voltages...
Thanks guys..!

you can also buy just the pieces/ports you want directly from front-x (its a separate company that makes this thing)

http://www.frontx.com/

the diagnostic led part you will have to make yourself...they do have blank connector blocks for the mobo headers that might b useful

I have a front-x I dont use. Used leds in the case for easy setup and they work. (easy to see).
