Full Version: Front Bay Digital Fan controller alternatives?

Hello. I've recently taken interest in front bay devices that I could use to monitor my GPU's, CPU's, and/or North Bridge's temperatures with, and possibly have the ability to monitor a few fan speeds too. I previously tried Logisys' 3.5" Digital thermal controller, but the crappy manual, the problematic temperature sensors, and the fact that it made my LED fan cooling devices flash like strobe lights really left me with a bad, bad experience.
So my question is this: does anyone know any particularly good digital thermal controllers that they would recommend to me? My only requirements are that the panel itself is silver (to match my computer) and that it gives me two different fan speed and temperature readouts. It would be NICE if it fit in a 3.5" drive bay, but it really isn't that important. Also, if possible, are there any good ones that read data from my BIOS instead of manually-placed thermal sensors? Again, that would be nice but isn't particularly important to me.

Thanks in advance.

There are several devices on the market, as you know. However, as you probably also know, you get what you pay for. Save up some $$ ($100-200 or so would be plenty) and purchase one of the Matrix Orbital LCD's. They come in a variety of configurations and displays, no 3.5" ones though. They have incredible software with them that includes a plugin to MBM5...many very cool features. I would recommend the VFD display in the 5.25 X 2 (2 bays) if you can fit it. The VFD screens have a 170* viewing angle.
